These products are supposed to be safe and effective, right? A black box warning means they are not. While the a black box warning is not a ban, in this case applied to a C0\/1D \/axxine, they probably should have been banned.However, the politics involved will not allow it. So this is the next best thing. What Does History Show? Historical data suggests such a black box warning will reduce uptake and increase \/a<<ine hesitancy. Black box warnings have consistently correlated with decreased prescription rates or uptake for other medications, as they amplify public and provider caution. The SSRI Black Box Warning An example is the SSRI black box warning for increased risk for suicide in youth. This warning label led to a 10-22% decline in prescriptions for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) among adolescents.
